Mel Black, President of Brightpath Education and former Executive Director of the North Carolina Appraisal Board, has joined Everett Gaskins Hancock Tuttle Hash LLP as of counsel effective October 1, 2019. He will continue his education activities in real estate and appraising and will continue to focus his legal practice primarily on representing licensees and applicants before the Appraisal Board, the Real Estate Commission and other licensing boards. Mr. Black is a graduate of Appalachian State University, and earned a master’s degree at Winthrop University and a juris doctor from North Carolina Central University.
