Our History
Everett Gaskins Hancock LLP is “old school” in feel but forward looking and thinking in practice. Grounded in 10 core principles which guide our practice, the Firm emphasizes quality of work and quality of life for our attorneys and staff. We measure our success not only through our service to our clients, but also through our service to our community and to our profession.
The Firm continues the tradition of legal excellence and service that began with the law practice of R. O. Everett (1878-1971) and Kathrine R. Everett (1893-1992), the grandparents of Rob Everett, who is currently of counsel to the Firm. Ed Gaskins began his practice with the firm of Governor Terry Sanford, and Gerry Hancock practiced with the firm of Judge and Duke Law School professor Robinson Everett (1928-2009). Ed and Gerry have practiced together for over 20 years, dating back to the formation of Everett, Gaskins, Hancock & Stevens, LLP in 1990.
Our lawyers focus their practices on solving business problems, assisting business entities, advancing the public interest in the representation of non-profit entities, and pursuing our clients’ interests through administrative proceedings and litigation in state and federal courts throughout North Carolina at the trial and appellate levels.
