Everett Gaskins Hancock LLP is founded upon core principles that have guided our attorneys throughout their careers.  We understand that the practice of law is fundamentally one of service—service to our clients, to our community, state and nation, and to the profession itself.  We carefully listen to our clients’ needs and work with them to craft practical and creative solutions to help them reach their goals.  Our attorneys are deeply involved in the life of North Carolina and our community, serving on various boards and actively participating in school, church, and community activities.  We also embrace our professional responsibility to enhance the practice of law, both through our active participation in bar activities at the county, state, and national levels and through the mentoring of law students and young attorneys who represent the future of our profession.

Located in The Historic Briggs Hardware Building in the heart of downtown Raleigh, Everett Gaskins Hancock offers legal services in a range of practice areas that is quite diverse given our purposefully small size.  We do not practice in every area of law, but we do practice at a high level in our fields of expertise.  As a result, our Firm is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and our attorneys have been recognized in Best Lawyers® in America, Super Lawyers, and Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite.  The Firm’s attorneys have been involved in business-related litigation of significance such as Crawford v. Mintz and Egelhof v. Szulik, have been instrumental in the formation of notable non-profit organizations such as the Public School Forum of North Carolina and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, and have successfully advocated on behalf of North Carolina’s Low Wealth Schools Consortium for the enforcement of every child’s right to a sound, basic education.  Our attorneys have served as president of the Wake County Bar Association and on the Chief Justice’s Commission of Professionalism, founding chair of the Public School Forum of North Carolina and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, and chair of the City of Raleigh’s Board of Adjustment.  In addition, the Firm’s attorneys maintain active involvement with numerous committees and commissions to further the practice of law and to improve our community.
